On this program, students will ask questions about perception and cultural expectations and will examine the lenses through which they view the world—both literally and figuratively. With visits to Mumbai,Kochin, and Bangalore, students will experience the cultural, historical, religious, and artistic richness of southern India.

Please note departure date and make necessary housing arrangements if you decide to stay in Nashville prior to departure.​

Excursions
  • Goa: Visit a spice plantation, enjoy time in an Indian beach town, visit one of the largest churches in South Asia, and learn about the Portuguese Catholic heritage in India.
  • Hampi: Visit this UNESCO World Heritage site and learn about the Vijayanagara and Mughal Empires while viewing the combination of Hindu, Muslim, and Jain architecture of the ruins here.

COURSES AVAILABLE
 
All courses will satisfy either Belmont requirements in the Gen Ed core or the specified major. You must participate in at least one course offered in India. You should consult individual program faculty to see how online options can fit into your study abroad program.

  • ART 1950: Digital Photography in India
  • COM 3950: Intercultural Communication in India (Junior Cornerstone) 

ONLINE OPTIONS:
ENG 3950: Third Year Writing (English 3010; satisfies BELL CORE requirement)
INB 3950: (satisfies BBA Co Business requirement for International Business 3300)

1. Program Fee: $5750:  This fee will include round-trip airfare from Nashville, housing, some meals, group travel between destinations on the itinerary, most site admissions, and student health insurance.

Costs not covered by the program fee include: evisa processing, international cell phone
coverage, personal expenses (such as additional travel, meals, gifts, course text/supplies)

2. Belmont Tuition
Tuition is charged at the special study abroad tuition rate of 2/3 off the cost of normal Maymester tuition. For every 3 hours of study abroad credit you register for, you pay for only one hour.  

Program Deposit: $500 due at time of acceptance

  • Summer Programs: February 15
