AUDIO ENGINEERING TECH: DESIGN, MANUFACTURE & IMPLEMENTATION 
 

Many of the largest concerts, tours, and festivals around the world are utilizing audio equipment manufactured in Europe. Come on a study abroad experience that will expose you to loudspeaker and microphone design, manufacturing, and application while immersing yourself in French and German culture. 


Excursions
Berlin:
  • Tour the Reichstag
  • Brandenburg Gate
  • Berlin Wall
  • Tour of Neumann and Sennheiser Microphone manufacturing plants
     
Paris:
  • Tour the Arc de Triumph
  • Louve
  • Eiffel Tower
  • Notre Dame
  • 4 day training at Nexo Headquarters
  • 2 day training at the L’acoustics production facilities
     
Stuttgart:
  • Tour the Fernsehturn TV Tower
  • Visit the 10th Century Old Castle

COURSES AVAILABLE
 
All courses will satisfy either Belmont requirements in the Gen Ed core or the specified major. You must participate in at least one course offered in Germany & France. You should consult individual program faculty to see how online options can fit into your study abroad program.
 
  • AET 3950 - Commercial Sound Systems Abroad (counts as AET 3895) (3 hrs.)

ONLINE OPTIONS:
ENG 3950: Third Year Writing (English 3010) (satisfies BELL CORE requirement, must have completed 60 credit hours to count as Third Year Writing)
REL 3950: Religion Jr. Cornerstone (Path A or B; satisfies BELL CORE requirement)
INB 3950: (satisfies BBA Core Business requirement for International Business 3300)


COSTS

1. Program Fee: $6,500: 
This fee will include all travel, lodging, four meals, and transportation. Activities and sightseeing are covered in the fee as well.


Costs not covered by the program fee include: Course texts/supplies, meals, personal expenses,and gifts/souvenirs. 

2. Belmont Tuition
Tuition is charged at the special study abroad tuition rate of 2/3 off the cost of normal Maymester tuition. For every 3 hours of study abroad credit you register for, you pay for only one hour.  

Program Deposit: $500 due at time of acceptance

All requirements must be completed by the Study Abroad Office deadlines: online materials are due by 11:59 PM on the deadline date
  • Spring Break Programs: November 15
  • Maymester Programs: February 1
  • Summer Programs: February 15
